About TREE
TREE is a local grassroots organization that plans, organizes, and executes programs in an attempt to reduce Virginia Tech’s ecological footprint so that we may become an environmental steward. To protect the environment, we must also focus on our personal consumption habits. TREE works to raise awareness about the individual's impact on the environment, as well as devoting ourselves as a watchdog organization.
We feel that only a student group, with no political affiliations with the university, can effectively and objectively keep a close eye on Virginia Tech to assure that we maintain high environmental standards and continue to push towards improving our environmental protection and energy management technology. TREE seeks to work with Virginia Tech officials and the local community to ensure a healthy, safe, and sustainable future for everyone.
